Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress, best known for the films Beta Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun. She began her career in the 1980s and came into prominence thanks to her character in Tezaab, a film in which she appeared alongside an established actor Anil Kapoor. Her next film was the movie Dil In which she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. The daughter of a middle class family in Mumbai she was able to learn dancing at a young age. As a teenager she started acting, and struggled for years as the majority of her first films were failures. Then, she discovered success with Indian film and climbed to the very top. The marriage of her mother led to an interruption in her professional career. Later, she returned. She was a key character on Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit was awarded 8 Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen she was nominated for. Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian prize given to civilians in India is bestowed to her. Her fame is based on her social works as well.
