Richard B. Cheney is a distinguished American public servant, businessman as well as a politician. Cheney is a recognizable person in Washington throughout his time. George W. Bush was the fourth president Cheney, who he served. Bush decided to choose Cheney as his vice president in July of 2000. Bush cited the experience and wisdom of Cheney. Dick Cheney is a former Chief of Staff of presidents, worked in Congress and was the secretary of defense. Republicans and Democrats alike respect his honesty. Cheney believes that his job within the Bush administration is to serve as a candid but discrete advisor. In accepting the Republican vice presidential nomination Cheney declared that he's looking forward to working with a president who will work for the accomplishment of goals through reaching across the partisan aisle and working with political opponents to achieve a mutual goals. Richard Bruce Cheney, son of Richard Herbert Cheney & Marjorie Lauraine Dickey was born on January 30, 1941 at Lincoln Nebraska. Cheney was moved to Casper, Wyoming with his family in the year 13 when he turned thirteen. He was raised by his father who worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, directed the soil conservation district in Casper.
