Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at an Olympic sport. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi and later became the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. In 1969, she participated in the Romanian Junior Championships and placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. In 1972, as part of a meet of communist countries junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she bagged three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974, she won the junior champion in all aspects. The athlete won four golds and one silver in the first competition of her senior level, held in 1975. This was the first time that she competed as a senior. The American Cup was hers to win. American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first female to do backward double salto as a dismount from the barres that are not parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her first professional work was in entertainment at the age of her teens, when she appeared in two figure skaters with the older sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career in the world of entertainment at the age of a teenager. As a young girl she was an ice skater with Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. These shows included ice skating and other shows, which were also accompanied with theatrical music.
